10 months.

mckay
  • loves techy gadgets (camera, phone, remote, etc.) freaks out every time we answer the phone and we don't give it to him. go ahead, call me right now. if he's not freaking out in the background i'll be very surprised. i'm kind of afraid to see what he would do if we took him to the apple store. he would probably have an aneurysm.
  • 4 teeth. 2 top, 2 bottom.
  • still does the breast stroke for crawling and getting very fast at it. watch out mr. phelps, here comes your competition.
  • spits on demand.
  • does the indian call (pats mouth while yelling). could be demonstrating the sign for "eat"; not sure yet because he does it randomly.
  • eats paper.
  • likes to crawl in the pantry, shut the door then calls for help.
  • drools. a lot.
  • sings in church.
  • doesn't understand why he can't bathe the puppies the same way laci does.
  • barks like a dog.
  • crawls over jack instead of around him.

jack
  • spits while he eats. thinks it's really funny.
  • throws his head back realllly hard while you're holding him and when you're not ready for it. thinks it's really funny.
  • does the indian chant. thinks it's really funny.
  • crawls into the shower and hides alllll the time. thinks it's really funny.
  • crawls all over mckay instead of around him. thinks it's really funny.
  • won't take a morning nap sometimes. thinks it's really funny.
  • the more tired he gets the more hyper he is. thinks it's really funny.
  • pulls himself up to the furniture and dishwasher. thinks it's really funny.
  • laughs at himself allll the time.
  • finally cut his first tooth on aug 24.
  • laughs at mckay.

jack and my grandpa.

i was looking through the myriad of photos that i took over the weekend from our idaho trip. i noticed i didn't take very many of jack at my dad's wedding. probably due to the fact that i was holding him pretty much the whole time. i notice that whatever twin i'm not holding gets more pictures taken of him. that time, it happened to be mckay.

the following day at my grandfather's grave in pocatello, however, jack got his chance.

this one is my favorite:

i love that we named our kids after virtuous people that they can really look up to.

addilynn vada is named after my mom's mom, vada n. rudd.

hollynd claudia is named after elder jeffrey r. holland, a latter-day apostle; and claudia e. bowler, lynn's mom.

jackson tad is named after my dad's dad, jack d. morris; and tad nielson, my grandmother vada's brother. {get it--vada's brother is tad; addie vada's brother is jackson tad--i know, i know soooo clever}

randy mckay is obviously named after lynn and his dad.

i hope to teach our kids all we know about who they are named after and what made them so special so they can realize the legacy of faith, virtue and strength that has been passed to them.

i think it would be cool to get a picture of tad's grave this year to go with this one; then it will be complete.

ps. i left the flowers me and kaydee held during dad & susan's wedding ceremony.
grandpa, i miss you.

happy 6 months to eefie!

i just love my sister and her little family.
so many people ask me regularly how little ethan is doing (casey & kaydee's sweetie). i thought i would take the liberty of showing you how he is since she's a lard butt and won't start her own blog...

kaydee recently sent me these pictures. here's what she has to say about how they are doing:

"these are pictures of ethan that i just took today...isn't he adorable?? we can't believe he's 6 months already and still growing like crazy. his skin is continuing to change however, it's still quite sensitive. he's still able to tolerate disposable diapers pretty well which is a blessing. hurray for ethan! some of you have heard that casey got a job in [utah] which he starts beginning of september. we're very sad to leave our incredible home here in boise but excited for a new start. we love you all, thanks for alllllll of your love and support!!"

taking the plunge.

my dad was married to his girlfriend, susan, on saturday. it was lovely. it was held in north fork, idaho. they had a very quiet, laid-back ceremony with family and close friends at a pretty secluded, away-from-everything little bed & breakfast called 100 acre wood; just my dad's style.

speaking of dad's style...

check this out. have you ever seen the groom go jump in a lake after making a toast? me neither. this one did. oh, and look--it just happened to be my dad!

he just wanted to show what it meant to "take the plunge" by really taking the plunge!

anyway, we had a great time and we are really glad that he has susan for a wife. congratulations to both of you!

i took a billion pictures but here are some of the goodies...

haylie and lynn plus elevynn.

{what do you think about the catchy title? you think we could get our own reality show. ok, maybe not.}

anyway,
i'm a grandma!!
laci had her first litter today! claudia is a saint for volunteering to dog-sit while we were out of town at my dad's wedding and they came while we were on our way back. we thought she would only have 2 or 3 seeing as how it's her first pregnancy but she had 7!!!

addie is in heaven. it tickles me to watch her be a little mama.

jack just sat and flapped his arms.

hollynd was excited but didn't want to touch.

mckay wanted to eat them--he was so darn excited he could hardly contain himself.

i didn't get as many pictures as i wanted because i was trying to control the whole brood but you can bet your britches there will be more to come.
